R Help Desk for applied epidemiologists

Timely support from epidemiologist R experts

Applied Epi offers a global R Help Desk to provide rapid technical support to applied epidemiologists. Our technicians help you learn R, troubleshoot your code, and make your code more efficient.

We have supported numerous agencies, including the Uganda Ministry of Health (during and after the recent Ebola outbreak), the Ministry of Health in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Medecines sans frontieres, and Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) worldwide.

Currently, public health agencies, NGOs, and individuals can purchase Help Desk hours in advance by emailing [email protected].

Level 1 calls are priced at US $150 per hour, and can be used in increments of 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours.

Level 1 Help Desk tickets can include support for data cleaning, data visualisation, simple statistical analysis, simple GIS mapping, and R Markdown reports. No data files are shared during calls, and the user is responsible for not sharing any sensitive information during the screen share.

Level 2 calls are currently available on a select basis (price available upon request), with expansion anticipated in 2024. Levels 2 calls include support for Shiny dashboards, phylogenetic analysis, epidemic modelling, complex GIS mapping, and version control among other topics.

In 2024 we anticipate a significant increase in this services, including scholarship options. To inquire about updates, email [email protected] or sign-up for our (occasional) emails here.
